This article covers importing media if you have the Elite Studio Recording Interface. Importing media allows you to re-purpose the Storyboard and Presenter Media from a previously run webcast and use the webcast again in a newly created Simu-live, Sim-2-Live, or On-Demand webinar.
This article is for those that have the Elite Studio Recording Interface enabled in their account. If you're looking for information on importing media in the original Elite Presentations, click here. |
To import media, launch the Elite Studio Recording Interface, log in as Producer, and connect to the Interface. The Elite Studio Recording Interface may ask for permission to use your camera and microphone - click Allow.
Things to Know
- Simu-live webcasts MUST be recorded AND published at least TWO HOURS before the scheduled start time. ALL CHANGES must be made prior to this, including changing the start date/time, recording elements, choosing Rollover to Live audio, etc.
-
The Elite Studio Recording Interface DOES NOT HAVE backwards compatibility with PMXD/Elite Presentations.
- This means if a Simu-live event is created in Elite Presentations/PMXD but has not gone live BEFORE you enable the Elite Studio Recording Interface, you will need to recreate the event in the Elite Studio Recording Interface. Media from PMXD will not properly convert and play in the Elite Studio Recording Interface.
- You cannot import media into a fully LIVE webcast (Live Video or Broadcast Video present types). This option is only for pre-recorded present types.
- Previously run events may show in the import list before they are fully available. To ensure all files carry over properly, review the original webcast in full using the Preview URL before using it as an import source. Once you see the event play completely and properly in the preview, it is ready to be imported.
- Please allow a minimum of 15 minutes for imported media to fully convert before publishing your new event. Thumbnails of media may show immediately, however files may still be copying in the background. Publishing before full import may cause truncated content and issues within the event.
Reusing a Previously Run Webcast
Open the Setup window from the Toolbar.
Click on Import Media.
Select the event you want to use and click Import Media. The entire presentation of the original webcast will copy into the new event.
- If the media is audio, it will be placed into the Clip Bin and Timeline.
- If the media is video, it will be placed in the Media Player and in the Timeline.
Once the presentation has been imported, you can move the Markers in the Timeline to adjust when the Storyboard elements display to the audience.
Click Publish. Wait approximately 10 minutes, then use the Preview URL to review the webinar in its entirety. Your new webcast is now ready for an audience.
