As an alternative to recording in the Elite Studio Recording Interface, you can record your presentation offline and upload it into the system. You can upload either one presenter video .mp4 file or use .wav audio files. After the presenter media has been uploaded, match the recordings to your slides to create a complete presentation.
This article is for those that have the Elite Studio Recording Interface enabled in their account. If you're looking for information on using Presenter Media in the original Elite Presentations, click here. |
To upload Presenter Media, launch the Elite Studio Recording Interface, log in as Producer, and connect to the Interface. The Elite Studio Recording Interface may ask for permission to use your camera and microphone - click Allow.
Things to Know
- Simu-live webcasts MUST be recorded AND published at least TWO HOURS before the scheduled start time. ALL CHANGES must be made prior to this, including changing the start date/time, recording elements, choosing Rollover to Live audio, etc.
-
The Elite Studio Recording Interface DOES NOT HAVE backwards compatibility with PMXD/Elite Presentations.
- This means if a Simu-live event is created in Elite Presentations/PMXD but has not gone live BEFORE you enable the Elite Studio Recording Interface, you will need to recreate the event in the Elite Studio Recording Interface. Media from PMXD will not properly convert and play in the Elite Studio Recording Interface.
- Downloading a Presenter Video file from the Elite Studio Recording Interface is NOT currently available.
- Only one Presenter Video file is allowed per webcast. The file can be deleted or replaced as necessary.
- The Presenter Video file serves as the entire presentation, so you will not be able to use Presenter Video AND record in ESRI.
Using Video Files

Uploading Presenter Video
Open the Setup window from the Menu and click on the Presenter Video icon then click to choose the file from your network, or drag the file into the Elite Studio Recording Interface.
While your Presenter Video file is uploading, finish setting up your Storyboard.
Once the Presenter Video file is uploaded, click the toggle ON to use the uploaded file for the presenter.
Use the Replace button if you need to upload a different file.
Using Audio Files
You can import .wav audio files into your presentation. You can upload as many audio files as you need. You can also mix pre-recorded audio files with audio recorded directly in the Elite Studio Recording Interface.
Click on the Import button in the Clip Bin and find the file on your network. The .wav file will be placed into the Clip Bin and can be dragged onto the timeline and edited like an audio file that was recorded. The label of the imported file will be the same as the file name.
Note: If a stereo .wav is uploaded, it will be transcoded to mono.
Setting Marker Timings
Once the presenter video file is uploaded or the audio files have been added to the Timeline, adjust the timings for all of your markers as needed.
Markers on the Timeline show you where your individual Storyboard elements (including slide animations) will be displayed during the event. For example, if the marker is set at 01m30s, the element will show to the audience 1 minute and 30 seconds into the presentation.
The markers are automatically numbered based on their place in the Storyboard and will be equally spaced every 30 seconds by default.
Note: At least one slide must be uploaded for the webcast to begin streaming to your audience. This element should be at the 00:00:00 spot on the Timeline. Find more information on video-only webcasts here.
Click on the marker in the Timeline and drag it to the appropriate timing. Do this for each storyboard element, including any animations. The system will automatically save the timings.
Publishing the Presentation
Although the presentation file will save automatically once the timings are set, the presentation needs to be published once every element has the correct spot on the Timeline.
Click on the first element in your storyboard/marker in the timeline (so the system knows to start your presentation there) and click Publish. A message will appear to confirm you want to publish.
Once the publishing process is complete, wait approximately 10 minutes, then use the Preview button in the
Elite Studio Recording Interface or the Preview URL to watch your entire presentation. You can make changes to your presentation and re-publish as many times as necessary. Once the changes have been made, click Publish again. A message will pop-up asking if you want to publish over the existing presentation. Click Continue to publish.
