This integration enables ON24 to automatically query Veeva Network using webinar registration data. When enabled, ON24 passes registrant information, such as NPI, email, and practice, to the Veeva Network. If a valid HCP match is found, the verified Veeva ID (VID) is stored in the ON24 platform. This feature helps pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations validate registrants as legitimate healthcare professionals (HCPs) using authoritative data from Veeva.
Note: This integration is separate from the Veeva Event Management data integration, but it's helpful to more accurately identify the correct HCP in Veeva. Each integration requires its own setup.
Enable the Integration
Open the Integrations dashboard in ON24 from Platform Tools >Integrations. Scroll down to Veeva Network > ON24.
Click Configure.
Click on New Authentication and enter your Veeva and enter your username, password, and server and click Create.
You can also enter a Match Rule Collection if you'd like. Leave this section blank if you want to use the default Veeva Network Match Rule Collection.
Click Next.
Choose which custom registration field your using on the ON24 registration forms from the Registrant HCP License Field. Make sure your registration forms are using the same custom field to collect the NPI number.
Click Next.
A pop-up will appear at the bottom of the screen, letting you know the authentication was successful. Click Next, then click Finish.
Data Flow and VID Retrieval
ON24 sends registrants data to Veeva Network's HCP Match API.
Fields sent:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address
- Company (Practice)
- Custom Field (1-10)
Veeva returns one or more potential matches along with matching advice and confidence scores.
VID Matching Logic
Depending on Veeva's response:
No records returned:
- No action taken
One record returned:
- If advice = "ACT", the VID is stored
- If not, the VID is ignored.
Multiple records returned:
-
- Filter for those where advice = "ACT".
- If one match remains, store that VID.
- If multiple remain, store the highest scored
- If tied on score, store the first returned.
- If no records have advice = "ACT", do nothing
VID Storage
The confirmed VID is saved in the registrants exteventusercd field in ON24.
