The URL element in Elite Studio allows YouTube videos to play during webinars, displaying videos in the Slide Area for desktop users, while mobile users see a clickable URL. Videos auto-mute in Chrome and must be unmuted manually. For on-demand webcasts, silence should be added to media files to avoid audio overlap. Videos play in the Live View for presenters and in the Slides tool for audiences, but on-demand viewers cannot pause or rewind the video.

Things to Know
- When using YouTube Videos set to show in the slide area, audience members viewing on mobile devices will NOT see that video play out within the Slides engagement tool. Instead, they will see the URL link to click on to open in a new tab. Users on desktop will see the video as expected.
- By default, Google Chrome will automatically mute the video within the Slide Area. Attendees using Chrome will need to unmute the video using the speaker icon at the bottom left corner of the Slide View Window.
Setup
Login to Elite Studio as a Producer.
Open the Setup tool and click on the URL option.
Paste the YouTube video URL into the text box, give the video a title, and set the Display to URL in Slide Area.
The display should always be set to URL in Slide Area so the video will play correctly for the audience.
Note: If you are creating a pre-recorded (On Demand or Simu-live) webcast and would like to incorporate a link to a YouTube video, you will need to add silence to the media file at the same location and duration as the YouTube video. If you are recording by phone, you can simply record silence and if you are uploading a media file make sure to include the appropriate length of silence to allow the video to play to it's completion so you don't create overlapping audio.
Presenter View
YouTube videos will play in the Live View window in Elite Studio when the URL element is pushed. The video will continue to play until the next Storyboard element is pushed to the audience. Any advertisements incorporated in the YouTube video will play to the audience.
Audience View
YouTube videos will play for the audience in the Slides tool on the Audience Console.
For those watching the webcast on-demand, the video will not pause, fast forward, or rewind if the Media Player is paused during the on demand playback.
