The ON24 Salesforce App, built on the Lightning framework, brings powerful engagement insights directly into your CRM. With this integration, you can embed the ON24 Account Engagement Profile (AEP) as a Lightning component on Salesforce Account records—giving your sales and marketing teams a unified view of how each account interacts with your ON24 experiences.
Domains from ON24 engagement data automatically map to Salesforce Accounts via the Website field, eliminating manual work and streamlining workflows. The AEP delivers rich account-level insights—such as attendee activity, content consumption, and lead behavior—right where your teams need them most.
By pulling ON24 engagement data, matching it to the correct company in Salesforce, and displaying it directly on the Account record, this integration empowers your team to act faster, personalize outreach, and convert engagement into revenue.
Timing & Backfills
Implementation Timing
To install the Salesforce app and perform a backfill to populate the AEP component will take 30 min to an hour. However, the timing on that will vary according to your resources’ availability.
Backfills
You can run a backfill in the Salesforce AEP Component App by following the AEP backfill instructions below.
- Log into Salesforce
- Press the 9 dot icon
- Select ON24 Connector
- Go to Settings.
- You should see an image similar to the one below.
- Fill in the Synchronize Historical Data section
- Backfills can be ran in batches of 3 months, and can go back up to 2 years
If asked to re-enter the Access Token, Secret Token, and Client Id, then obtain that information from your API Dashboard. Your Client id is unique to your account.

Does the Salesforce AEP Component App solution support customers using the ON24 EU data center?
Yes
Do we need to create any custom fields for prior to installing the AEP Component App?
No, installing the app will create all components offered for you.
Why am I seeing an error within the AEP visualforce page?
- If you are experiencing errors in the AEP visualforce page, this could mean a number of things. First check that the API Access Token is still active and the individual's Platform User in ON24 Elite is still active. The API Access Token is linked to the email address of the Platform User who create the token, so when their user is removed, the API Access Token becomes invalid.
- If the Access Token is still valid, Contact Support to open a ticket.
Prerequisites
Salesforce Lightning and API Credentials
The ON24 Connector App was created for use with Salesforce Lightning. The App uses the ON24 REST API and requires ON24 Connect to generate API credentials for the App to request data from ON24.
ON24 Advanced Analytics is required for this integration.
Salesforce Admin Tasks
- Install App as a Salesforce admin
- Assign permissions to appropriate profiles for:
a. Configuration of the App Settings for adding ON24 API credentials
b. View installed reports
c. View installed dashboard
d. View new custom fields on the Account Page - Adjust page layouts to see ON24 specific fields for Accounts
Installation
Obtain and Load the Installation URL
- Log in to Salesforce as the appropriate Admin that will own the new App.
- Once you are logged in, click on the installation URL.

Choose the Installation Options
Select Install for Admins Only then click the Install button.
NOTE: For the question What if existing component names conflict with ones in this package?, select the option Do not install. Uninstall any previous versions, then continue with the installation.
When you are prompted to approve third-party access, select the option Yes, grant access to these third-party websites then click the Continue button.
You should see the following screen:
You may get the following message. Click Done and wait until the package is installed. When the package is ready you will receive a notification via email.
Note: Emails may take up to 30 minutes.
To view the installed package, go to the apps section and search for ON24 Connector.
Permissions & Page Layouts
App Permissions
Assign the appropriate app permissions for users. Go to Permission Sets to configure the ON24 permissions.
- ON24 Connector Admin - Assign to user(s) who will be configuring the app settings, adding ON24 API credentials, and viewing logs.
- ON24 Connector User - Assign users for viewing the embedded AEP app component and the ON24 fields on the Account page.
Updating Contact and Lead Page Layouts
Viewing the embedded Account Engagement Profile page in the Account page requires updating page layouts for Salesforce users. There is a ON24AEP iFrame Lightning component that can be added to the Details tab, or you can create a new tab called ON24 AEP and add the Lighting component.
The new custom field is also included with the app and can be added to the Account page:

ON24 Connector Settings
Provision API Credentials
The connector requires API credentials associated with an ON24 user from your workspace. Please see https://apidoc.on24.com/obtain-api-access-tokens for instructions on how to generate API tokens.
Configuring Connector
To enable the service, configure the following:
- Add API credentials:
- Access Token
- Secret Token
- Client Id
Select the location for your ON24 Workspace Data Center. Choose if you want the service to create new Lead.
Choose if you want to receive notifications after each run of the service.
Start Recurring Job. Select the frequency that you want the integration to run and click Start Recurring Job to enable the service.
Once the Recurring Job is started an automatic backfill from the past 30 days will occur.
