Webcast Elite offers three pre-recorded present types – Simu-live, Sim-2-Live, and On-Demand. This article describes the differences between each type and provides best practices and FAQs for Presenters and Producers, including information on event setup and configuration, importing media, and recording new webcasts.
Differences Between Pre-Recorded Present Types
A Simu-live webinar simulates a live webinar by playing a pre-recorded event at a specified time. It can feature engagement tools just like a live event and provides the flexibility of creating something on-demand. A "live event" with a date and time drives people to register, generating more registration and attendance. Simu-live webinars also make it easy to run multiple webinar events during a given day or even at the same time. More events mean more prospects and ultimately will increase your pipeline.
Simu-live provides presenters flexibility, allowing them to record slides and presentation elements in advance (maximum of 10 presenters at a time).
One member of the team is REQUIRED to log in as the Producer when the webinar is live with the audience, so they can press the End Webcast button and stop the webinar. Once the webinar is stopped, it cannot be restarted.
You can also create webcasts that are On-Demand Recordings, which will only be available on-demand right from the start. All On-Demand events must be recorded before the scheduled Start time on the overview page. This start time is when the event would go 'live' - it is not the recording time.
Setup
Create your event, including setting up registration pages and the audience console, then decide how you want to pre-record. You have three options, no matter which of the pre-recorded present types you use or which recording platform you have in your account.
Click on the tab to learn more about the different recording platforms.
Elite Presentations
Elite Presentations is the main recording platform for Webcast Elite. You can tell you have Elite Presentations if the top of your login screen for the Present URL says Presentation Manager XD.
- Recording in Elite Presentations - Record your audio over phone and sync it with your slides to create your entire presentation.
- Using Presenter Media - Upload a pre-recorded audio or video file of your presentation and sync it with the storyboard elements. It can be recorded offline or pulled from a previously run webcast in Webcast Elite.
- Importing Media - Importing media allows you to re-purpose the Storyboard and Presenter Media from a previously run webcast and use the webcast again in a newly created Simu-live, Sim-2-Live, or On-Demand webinar.

FAQs
Automatic post-live On-Demand will be available approximately 3 hours after the webcast.
On-Demand Recordings can be published whenever you want
Use the Video option if using a video Presenter Media file or importing media from an event with video/screen share/presenters on a webcam.
Doing so may erase the recorded audio from your presentation. If additional slides or changes need to be added to your presentation after its published, all new slides will need to be added after the initial sequence of slides in PowerPoint.
The slides must be in the same sequence and have the same builds as the initial upload.
For On-Demand Recordings, no - questions can be forwarded to an email of your choosing to be answered offline.
For On-Demand Recordings, no - once an On-Demand webcast is available, audiences can watch whenever they have access to the Audience URL.
For Sim-2-Live, no - a Producer must be logged in to end the webcast after the live portion.
Best Practices
- Upload your presentation and correct your duration before promoting your event, to ensure the correct duration shows on the registration page and calendar reminders.
- Once the webcast has been created, click on the Webcast URLs to find the Present URL to send to your presenting team.
- Copy the link and add it to your email or appointment, along with the dial-in information.
- The Present URL will be the same for recording the webcast, monitoring the live event, and rolling over to live audio (if doing a Sim-2-Live webcast).
- Simu-live / Sim-2-Live webcasts must be recorded and published at least TWO HOURS before the scheduled start time.
- Make sure you are on the first element in the Storyboard when publishing, so the system knows to start the webcast there.
- We recommend publishing the presentation 24-48 hours before the set date and time of the webcast, so there is time to review the entire published recording.
- If any changes are made to the presentation after it has been published, the Producer will need to republish the presentation, so the changes are saved.
- All presenters should be on a stable Internet connection when recording the presentation.
- Every webcast must have at least one PowerPoint title slide uploaded, AND audio must be recorded to that slide.
- The audio recorded to that slide can be silent (3-4 seconds minimum).
- When recording, multiple presenters recording DIFFERENT slides simultaneously are not supported.
- The conference line allows up to ten people so presenters can collaborate on slides. Or presenters can take turns recording at different times.
- Audio will remain attached to the slide/element it was recorded to, even when moved within the Storyboard Organizer.
