Things to Know
- NextGen Elite Studio leverages WebRTC technologies and standards.
- Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge are the supported browsers for presenters. Firefox and Safari are not supported.
- VCU is not supported.
-
A Producer or Presenter must stay connected to the webinar at all times.
If all presenters disconnect, the live stream will stop and restart, creating two separate webinar archives- For longer webinars, presenters can take a break by muting their cameras and microphones. However, all presenters should remain connected and ensure their computers don’t sleep or restart during the break. Following these steps helps prevent stream interruptions and ensures the webinar converts to on‑demand correctly.
-
By default, up to 10 users (Producers/Presenters combined) can connect to Elite Studio at once. An upgrade to support 20 presenters is available. Please contact your Account Manager if you’re interested.
- Increasing presenter capacity does not change the available webcam layouts. Presenters who speak will automatically become visible. Those who haven't spoken recently will fade out of view.
- Elite Studio is supported on iPad (version 16+) for Live Video, Simu-live, Sim-2-Live, and Broadcast Video present types.
Browser Access
Your browser may ask you to grant ON24 access to your microphone and camera.
Be sure to click Allow before closing the window.
Once connected, you will notice indicators that your browser is using your microphone and webcam.
Note: While virtual webcams are not blocked, they are not a part of our supported test matrix. ON24 cannot guarantee or predict outcomes. If issues arise, please be prepared to switch to supported physical webcams.

Connecting
Use the Presenter Link or the Launch Elite Studio link from the event Overview page to pull up Elite Studio.
Enter your details, choose your role, and click Login.
Important: Every Live event must have at least one Producer logged in to Elite Studio to start and stop the event. If you are running an event by yourself, log in as a Producer.
Connect by Webcam and/or PC Microphone. By default, both the camera and microphone will be connected.
Click the Video or Audio buttons to mute. In your initial connection, you will be prompted to allow use of available microphones and cameras; click the drop-downs to choose your camera/microphone.
Click on the Virtual Backgrounds button to change your background.
Click on the kebab menu to find the following options:
- Terms of Use
- Troubleshooting
- Test Connection
- Display My Name
A signal strength indicator will display the strength of your internet connection.
- If signal strength drops to 1 bar for more than 10 seconds, an alert will appear with the option to turn off the camera and continue presenting with your microphone only.
- Turning off the camera will significantly lower your bandwidth requirement. You can always turn your camera back on if your signal strength returns to three bars.
Rate Requirements:
- Minimum: 2.5Mbps
When everything is set, click Join Now to connect your camera/microphone to Elite Studio. This will allow other presenters to see your camera feed and hear your microphone.
Troubleshooting
- Ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi connection; stable connections are acceptable. Unstable Wi-Fi due to congestion or other factors can cause connectivity drops that adversely affect a live event.
- Make sure ON24 has access to your microphone and camera within the browser, and ensure the browser tab is unmuted (right-click the browser tab to unmute).
- Clear your browser cache.
- Close all other applications and browser tabs. This is especially true of collaboration apps (Zoom, WebEx, Teams). It is okay to use them for audio and chat, but do not attempt to run video, webcam, or screen sharing in a collaboration app while the ON24 presenter interface is running. It will use all of the available CPU resources.
- Try a different browser.
- Log off VPN (Virtual Private Network).
- Use an Incognito Window.
- Restart your computer (if there is time to reboot).
- A browser refresh should be performed whenever the camera or mic is manually connected or disconnected. Refreshing while troubleshooting can help ensure all changes are seen and that any connection is restarted.
- Elite Studio will time out after two hours of inactivity.
FAQs
Try another browser.
- Unplug and reconnect the device(s) to the USB port. Refresh after reconnecting to help trigger detection of the device.
- Reboot the computer to ensure there are no software conflicts competing for the same device (webcam or PC microphone).
- Refresh by pressing F5 on your keyboard. If that doesn't resolve the issue, the most likely cause is content filters are blocking either access to the TURN server or access to the ON24 servers.
- Refreshing the page will not end the webinar.
- Note: When refreshing and reconnecting, the microphone and camera are automatically ON when the new connection loads.
- Submit a case to ON24 Platform Support, and our team will work with your network personnel to address the issue.
- Likely caused by insufficient audience bandwidth.
- Can happen when connected to an unstable Wi-Fi internet connection.
- Connect to webcam using a stable, high-speed internet connection.
