Webcast Elite
Update to Managing Tools in Console Builder and Hiding of Inactive Tools
In the Console Builder, there is a new Tools button in the top right corner. From there, the tools that have been added to the console can easily be toggled ON or OFF. If you have the Manage Audience Console Layout permission, you will also be able to add additional tools. This replaces the Tools Manager.
Toggling a tool OFF is equivalent to making a tool inactive. A related change is that tools that are marked inactive (either through the toggle or through the Attributes > Active setting) are now hidden on the Console Builder. Hiding inactive tools on Console Builder removes clutter and makes it easier to work on your console layout.
Guided Registration Page Setup
We’re making it even easier to create engaging registration pages for your events. Now, when you add sections to your registration page, they’ll come pre-populated with content to help kick-start your page setup.
These pre-filled sections are designed to simplify editing by providing helpful prompts to guide you in showcasing your event information in the most impactful way.
Note: This feature applies to the new Registration Page Builder.
Easily Edit Social Posts
We are introducing a convenient way to update your social posts. When you hover over the floating social icons on your registration page, a pen icon will appear. Click the pen icon to quickly edit the social post with an image and text. This update ensures managing your social posts is straightforward and efficient.
Note: This feature applies to the new Registration Page Builder.
Expanded Global Brand Palette in Theme Dropdown
The Theme dropdown on the Overview page will now allow selection of any of the four Global Branding colors that have been selected, as well as ON24-defined color options. Theme colors are applied to the new Registration Page and Audience Console. The Primary brand color will continue to be the default.
Note: This feature applies to the new Registration Page Builder.
Miscellaneous Enhancements and Fixes
- The account name and selection element has been moved to the right of the page (closer to the 'Create Event' button).
- Registrants that were blocked using the Manage Registrants page were still able to enter the event. This has been fixed.
- In the Contact Us tool, attendees were erroneously able to modify the To field. This has been fixed.
- There were cases where custom lobby music was not playing when it should. Now, if there is an unexpected failure in playing custom lobby music, the default lobby music will be played as a fallback.
- For events with both the Breakout Room tool and Take Survey tool configured to show at the end of the event, the Take Survey tool was not being shown. This has been fixed.
- For events with tools configured to show at the end of the event (i.e. Take Action tool, Take Survey tool), attendees who reach that post live content are supposed to be automatically exited from the console if there is 5 minutes of inactivity. That was not happening, but it has now been fixed.
- In the case that the console's chrome style was set to one of the options where the chrome is always shown, for tools that had the Show on launch attribute unchecked, the ability for attendees to reposition the tool was not working correctly. This has been fixed.
Forums
Speaker Names in Forums Transcripts
For Forums events, the transcript now includes the name of the person speaking, followed by the words being spoken. This is useful when there are two or more people speaking in the event, especially when they are having a back-and-forth conversation. Event transcripts can be found in the Media Manager.
Note: This feature will be rolled out to customers in phases. Please see ON24 Platform Rollouts for details.
New Forums Options
You now have three options to configure a Forums event.
- Present with Elite Studio - This is the default Forums configuration to present from Elite Studio
- Present from Audience Console - Presenters login to the audience console and have access to start and end the event and recording, turn off camera and mute mics of all attendees and control who has access to screen share.
- Everyone is a Presenter - All presenters and attendees have the same functionality.
The option is set at the event level within the Forums Configuration Panel.
Note: This feature will be rolled out to customers by request only. Please contact Support for details.
Screen Share from an iPad (Beta)
You can now share your screen from an iPad during a live Forums event. You will need to first download the ON24 screen share app from the Apple app store.
Note: This feature is in Beta and will be enabled by request only. Please contact Support for details.
Engagement Hub
ALT Text on Category Images
Now admins have the ability to provide alt text on category images with half-width configuration for improved accessibility.
Search Label next to Search Icon
Admins can now turn on a Search label next to search/magnifying glass icon. The label can also be localized.
Media Manager
Easily Create Videos of Key Quotes
In the Content Builder - Text to Video tool, you will see that key quotes from your event are now prominently highlighted so that they are readily identified and found. With a single click you can select a key quote and proceed to generate a video of it.
To launch the Content Builder - Text to Video tool, go to Media Manager, find the Key Moment Collection you want to add to, and from the 3-dot menu click on Add Video.
Generate Podcast
Now along with other AI Generated Content ordered through Smart Plays, a podcast and its written script with dual speakers (Host and Guest) will be generated and available in Media Manager (applicable for webinars in English only). Users will be able to edit the script and re-generate the podcast audio file. Additional customizations such as host and guest voices, names are available through platform support. A link to the podcast will be included in the email notification sent to event creators notifying them that AI-generated content is available.
Updated Default Thumbnails and Subtype Tags for AI Generated content
Now default thumbnails for AI-generated content (eBooks, Blogs, Key Takeaways, Transcripts, Podcasts, Social Media Posts, and Follow-Up Emails) are color-coded, and subtype tags help admins distinguish and navigate between different types of content in Media Manager.
Intelligence
New Smart Tip: Industry Interests
This Smart Tip will provide the top interests found across the ON24 platform for the selected Sector and Industry of the account. (Smart Tips uses the same Sector and Industry selections that are used for Benchmarking reporting in Analytics.) The top interests are the most frequent/important words and phrases that come up in content and customer interactions (questions asked).
New Smart Tip: Captioning
For accounts that do not use Live or On-Demand Captioning in their events, a new Smart Tip will show how much their engagement scores could be increased by turning captioning on.
For accounts that do use On-Demand Captioning in events, but do not turn the captions on by default for attendees, a new Smart Tip will show how much defaulting to visible captions could increase their engagement scores.
Related Content by Segment
For events that include Related Content set up to be targeted to specific segments, the Related Content report in the Webcast Intelligence Report will now include details about the targeted segments and the segments of leads who download content.
On the top-level Related Content report, the summary for each piece of content will display the list of segments to whom that content was targeted. The summary will also show if a piece of content was defined as the fallback option, or if the content was simply shown to all attendees.
Segmentation
Target a Unique Certification to Different Audience Segments
The Earn Certification tool has been enhanced with segmentation capabilities so that you can deliver more personalized and relevant experiences to attendees. Within the Certification tool you can target certifications to different segments of attendees. Attendees see the same tool container, but the container will be populated with a different certification based on segments.
For example, using our Segment Builder, you define a "California Attendees" segment and an "Arizona Attendees" segment based on a registration field. Then, you can configure the Earn Certification tool so that "California Attendees" are presented with a certification that requires watching 30 minutes and passing a test. If they fulfill the criteria, they earn a California specific downloadable certificate. Meanwhile, "Arizona Attendees" are presented with a certification that only requires 25 minutes of viewing. If they fulfill the criteria, they earn an Arizona specific downloadable certificate.
You can still easily define a certification that is shown to all attendees.
Note: We are working on enhancing the certification report to better report on personalized certifications. The enhanced report will be available in the February release.
Note: This feature is currently on hold. It will be rolled out to customers in phases once roll out begins. Please see ON24 Platform Rollouts for details.
Video Builder
Resolved issues where pages would hang while loading content or not play back when clicked for some time.
Connect Integrations
Folder Organization Metadata for Audience Questions in API Responses
A new enhancement to the attendee activity API response now includes folder names for audience questions, as organized by presenters in Elite Studio. This update provides additional context by indicating the folder location of each question, including Inbox and Trash, alongside the attendee's submitted question and any presenter responses. This feature streamlines activity tracking and improves data clarity for more efficient analysis.
Go Live
Make a Statement with Vanity URLs
Vanity URLs give you ultimate control over how your events are presented online, putting your brand front and center. Now you can use Vanity URLs in Go Live events, providing a polished experience that aligns with your brand.
Create Elite Webinars on the Fly
We’ve streamlined your workflow to save you time and effort. Now, you can create a new Elite webinar directly within your Go Live session setup. Previously, you had to configure webinars in Elite before creating a session. Webinars created from Go Live must be edited in Elite.
Introducing the Light Mode Logo Option
You can now upload a light mode logo to enhance the appearance of your event pages when using a lighter background theme. This update ensures your branding is maintained regardless of the display mode. Easily add your light mode logo for a polished, professional look that complements every setting.
